From the Memoirs of an Exarch (50 sentences about G'raha Tia)

Character: G'raha Tia (with G'raha/OC implications)
Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV
Theme set: Delta
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Spoilers for Shadowbringers, mentions of two OCs (the WoL and her twin brother)

01. Blend : Darkness settles over the Crystal Tower for the first time in a century, blending the sky with blues and purples and oranges all at once as the stars finally appear overhead.

02. Stain : The weight of his sins is like a stain on his soul; nevertheless, he pushes forward with his plan.

03. Island : They say no man is an island, and he believes it true; he is an inlet, instead, and his only confidant one who retreated from him after he had borne the truth of his mission.

04. Apple : Little Lyna has offered to him an apple, red and ripe and undoubtedly sweet; he takes it and thanks her with a smile he does not feel – it was he who was incapable of saving her mother, after all.

05. Paper : If he could even begin to write down the things he wanted to say to her, the Warrior of Light, his idol, the thoughts of whom had kept him going through the hardest of times, there wouldn’t be enough paper in the world.

06. Relax : It is difficult to relax in a dying world; there is always something that needs attention, and today, it is Thancred and his new ward, the little Minfilia.

07. Leaves : He enjoys the quiet peace of Lakeland, with its many trees, boughs heavy with lavender leaves; though he rarely leaves the Crystarium, it is always a welcome sight.

08. Proof : Red eyes stare back at him from the mirror, the only proof he has that he is still G’raha Tia from the Source – but is he really, anymore? – and he pulls his hood down so they are hidden from sight.

09. Ugly : The corrupted Light has scarred the once beautiful, clear skies of Norvrandt, and now, ugly white light surrounds everything, seeming to not even have a source.

10. Book : The umbilical was strewn with books, and books were wear G’raha Tia had died and the Crystal Exarch was born – a necessity, in this dying world, a strength that G’raha never had to hold things together until he could summon the Warrior.

11. Brood : He really did try not to brood too much – Thancred did enough of that for the both of them – but he couldn’t help the sour mood he felt when he again failed to summon his intended target.

12. Mesh : One might think that his memories would have meshed together perfectly when he entered his new-old body, but they would be wrong; some of it is like a dream he’d had and some of it is too vivid for his age.

13. Soft : Leo’s hair is soft as silk and just as smooth, or at least, he imagines it is still so; it has been a long time since he had touched it.

14. Shelf : To say his stature is diminutive is putting it mildly, and, even as the Exarch of the entire Crystarium, he needs a step stool to reach the top shelf.

15. Alone : He greets loneliness like an old, bitter friend; he almost prefers the solitude as time ticks onward, and he remains alone.

16. Fall : The fall of Norvrandt is an ever-looming, ominous prospect, portending the eventual rise of the Eighth Umbral Calamity; he will not let that happen.

17. Knot : It is with a knot in his stomach that he realizes that somehow, he has summoned the wrong twin – Leo now sat in front of him, not Gemini.

18. Crowd : He knows the crowd of the Crystarium looks to him for support, and he does his best to offer it; yet he feels very much like he is only barely holding on to hope himself.

19. Denial : It would be easy to look away and deny what he needs to do, but he tells himself – not for the first time – that he is truly the only one who can do it.

20. Train : Becoming a part of the Tower has left him capable of feats of magic unheard of by any other means, but he still feels the need to train each day.

21. Fur : It isn’t becoming to hide his fur each day, but he would not want the Warrior of Light to have any lingering regrets once he is gone, and it simply wouldn’t do to be recognized.

22. Chrome : The bright shine of the chrome armor worn by the warriors of the Crystarium was blinding in the eternal, corrupted Light.

23. Heart : Trial and error; that is what this seemed to be, with six failures under his belt, but he knew in his heart that he would eventually summon his intended target.

24. Intention : It was never his intention to separate Gemini and Leo, for he knew how much they relied on each other; but here was Leo, wrapped in a robe, and not really understanding where he was.

25. Push : It is funny in retrospect, but it had been Nero who had given him the push he had needed to do what had to be done with the closing of the Crystal Tower.

26. Look : The look Leo gives him when he comes out in his new clothes, unsure of himself and his new-old body – that is enough for his ears to perk up all on their own.

27. Weight : Leo had dropped in weight since being summoned here, and nary a soul could get him to eat more; he spends his days in the library, searching for a way to go home to Gemini, and his nights were oft spent there as well, under a blanket laid there by the Exarch himself.

28. Spider : There is a spiderweb of cracks running through his crystalline arm, filled out in gold filigree to keep the arm from falling to pieces; he still must exert effort to keep his body in one piece.

29. Robe : The robe had been a necessity once, but now, his identity was out; Tataru had so kindly made him new clothing that did fit his fancy, but he felt...well, a bit naked without it.

30. Umbrella : Even an umbrella would not filter out the corrupted Light; it came from all directions, not just the sky, and would not be deterred in such a simple way.

31. Surface : On the surface, he is calm and collected throughout the nightless days; on the inside, he is a whirlpool of emotion every time he sees Leo’s dejected face.

32. Idea : Sometimes, he resents the idea that he is the one to accomplish all of this; him, just a regular scholar who happens to have an onze of connection to the noble bloodline.

33. Diamond : Lyna often told him his arm looks like a diamond in the Light when she was younger, a relic of a childhood forced to be cut short in the face of tragedy.

34. Blind : He is not blind to the machinations of Lord Vauthry or any of Eulmore, and he takes proper precautions before meeting with the man.

35. Flow : He feels the ebb and flow of magic from the Tower at every given moment; out in Kholusia it is less so but ever present, and it keeps him strong.

36. Movement : He retains movement of his crystalline arm, but only after the long, painful process of breaking the crystal to pieces; he holds them together with the Tower’s magic.

37. More : The world is greedy for the darkness, craving more and more of the night; but in Eulmore, they call the end times and the death of what remains in the First.

38. Honey : Gemini takes honey on her toast in the mornings, and he stores that away in his thoughts; it is a pleasure to know the little details of his friends.

39. Weather : The weather is ever present, never changing, until Gemini comes and sets things right; the next time it rains, he stands out in it and laughs with everyone else in the Crystarium.

40. Blue : The first time the Light clears from the skies and the blue tint returns to the heavens is a moment of celebration for all of the Crystarium.

41. Double : He remembers seeing double the first time he saw the twins, Leo and Gemini, but there is never any mistaking who is who these days.

42. Braid : He remembers the first time Leo changes his hair in the years after his failed summoning; it’s a stark difference from the plain braid down his back, and he enjoys the new look.

43. Thread : Gemini’s arrival is a thread of hope traveling throughout him and holding him together, but he worries that the thread will unravel in the end, and he won’t be enough to stop it.

44. Angles : The crystalline angles of the Tower show the Light in many places, almost too bright to look at some days (some nights), and he almost forgets what it looks like in the long absent dark.

45. Daydream : He knows it isn’t worth it, knows he must trade his life for Gemini’s; but sometimes he daydreams about having stayed in Mor Dhona with his new friends.

46. Nightmare : He knows Leo has nightmares, almost constantly, and he knows he is at fault; there is little he can do to quell his friend’s fears.

47. Honor : Despite their repeated encounters, there is little honor among Ascians, it seems – the gunshot in his back is proof enough of that.

48. Palm : The palms of Leo’s hands are covered in callouses from his bow, from the strings of his lute, and he craves to know them all, to hold those hands until he has memorized every crack and soft spot.

49. Screen : He is plagued with disbelief when Gemini presents him the soul carrier apparently he created, but he takes it anyway; it is not unlike a screen of light appearing in his mind as the memories began to take hold.

50. Warmth : When they welcome him into the Scions, when they call him “G’raha Tia,” when they smile at him – he feels something, feels it in his very soul: ah, it is warmth.
